ALBAIRATE

Albairate is located within the Parco Sud di Milano, in the area of Abbiategrasso, to the east of Milan and to the north of the Naviglio Grande. Its historical centre dates back to 1054 and has the urban structure of a rural Lombard village, with streets laid out between courtyard buildings and a long central square.

Not to be missed in Albairate is the 18th century Cascina Salcano, which is now the town hall and Agricultural Museum with a collection of tools and equipment used by farmers. Of particular interest, at the end of the courtyard, is the "ghiacciaia" ("ice-house"), which is one of last few remaining, showing how milk used to be processed.

The Cascina la Palazzina will suggest a range of nature walks, places of architectural and artistic beauty and small villages where you’ll be able to find local products and experience their traditions, festivals and market stalls.

VIGEVANO

15 km away from the farm, you can reach Vigevano by car in around 25 minutes, taking the  “SS494” road.
Vigevano is a city of art, known for its marvellous historical centre, making it one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Its Piazza Ducale is undoubtedly one of the most interesting examples of Renaissance urban architecture and, to this day, remains the heart and soul of the surrounding area.
It is also a “city of water”, with multiple canals and the river Ticino, creating an highly evocative atmosphere. Time goes by to the sound of the river trickling through the town.
Vigevano is also popular with fashion enthusiasts: the shoes made in Vigevano are known worldwide for their style and quality.

ABBEY OF MORIMONDO

10 km away from the farm, you can reach the Abbey of Morimondo by car in around 15 minutes, taking the “SP114” for 3 km, the “SS494” for 2 km, and the “SS526” for 2 km.
The Cistercian Abbey of Morimondo, originally built in wood, is now an impressive and elegant building constructed with clay bricks produced by a kiln made by its own monks in order to construct the walled monastery. It is a magical place where you’ll hear the Gregorian chant echoing though the village of Morimondo, and smell the aromas of its superb restaurants. The abbey produces a mixture of emotions: it is a place to delve into history and the future, faith and nature, and is a starting point to pause and reflect.
